Snippets

Disclaimer: Snippets should only be used by the provider when the included wording accurately reflects and represents the care and observations from that specific patient visit.  Snippets should not be applied to any patient record without careful review.  All snippet text must be carefully reviewed before storing for future use, and thoroughly evaluated for appropriateness at every instance of later use.

The snippet tool is designed to allow you to save and easily insert text that you use frequently in your patient documentation.  The tool is available in all sections of the note except the Access and Amendment areas.

Snippets are user, note, and field-specific, meaning only the user who creates the snippet will have it available as an option to select, and the snippet will only be visible in that specific note and field in which it was created.  The only exception is snippets created for Transplant Status comments are shared across all note types.

Snippets must be carefully reviewed before storing and thoroughly evaluated for appropriateness of later use.  The snippet text can be modified if needed.

NOTE: Falcon Silver created snippets will be migrated into OneView except for the Limited Encounter notes snippets and any snippets that exceed 1000 characters in length.

To create a snippet:

Step 1: Type the appropriate text in the free text field

Step 2: Click the Save Snippet icon

NOTE: The most recently created snippet will show at the top of the saved snippet list.

To use a snippet:

Step 1: Click the Show Snippet icon

Step 2: Select the applicable snippet from the dropdown

Step 3: Repeat step 2 to select another snippet, if applicable

NOTE: Comment fields have a 1000 character maximum.  Any snippets that, if added to the current text in the comment field would exceed 1000 characters will be unavailable for selection in the snippets list.

To delete a snippet:

Step 1: Click the Show Snippet icon

Step 2: Select the applicable snippet from the dropdown

Step 3: Click the Delete icon

Step 4: Click Yes
