Steps to Sign and Send a Pending Prescription for a Patient

  1. Go to the Clinical Summary section of the appropriate patient’s chart

  1. Click Pending RX Must be sent NEW SIGN & SEND

This will open the Prescription Report in Rcopia window allowing you to review, sign and send the patient-specific pending prescription(s)

  1. Review and select the desired prescription(s) to process by checking or unchecking the checkboxes

  1. Click Send
 
  1. Review the selected prescriptions
Note: If any alerts exist for a prescription, you will be prompted to review them prior to reviewing the list of prescriptions to be sent.
  1. Click Submit

New Medication Designation

After the medication is signed and sent, the medication will be available on the OneView medication list with the “New Med” tag located to the right of the medication name. eRx-NewMedTag.png

The tag stays on the medication for 8 days.

Viewing the Prescription in Rcopia

The medication can also be viewed on the Prescription Report in Rcopia by changing the Status flag to “Completed” and selecting a Date Range. Once the filters are selected, then click the “Search” button for the results.
