The eRx Messages queue lists electronic renewal (refill) requests generated by the pharmacy and sent to the prescriber for approval. |
The number located to the right of the link is the number of waiting renewals for the prescriber.
Time Limitation
The prescriber has 72 hours to act on a renewal request. If no action is taken by that time, the renewal request will expire and automatically be removed.
Viewing eRx Messages in Rcopia
Click eRx Messages in OneView to view the prescriptions that are awaiting renewal in Rcopia. After selecting eRx Messages, the Rcopia window opens with a list of renewal requests from the pharmacies.
Rcopia will display a renewal count as well, in the upper-right corner. |
Renewal List in Rcopia
The renewal list is sorted alphabetically by the patient’s last name. Data for the patient includes last name, first name, DOB, gender, address, and telephone number. |
The prescription information for the patient will include original prescription order details and requesting medication information.
Renewal Actions
Each renewal request requires the prescriber to act within 72 hours. The possible actions displayed are detailed below.
Action | Description |
None | A renewal where no action has occurred. This is the default. |
Forward | Not available at this time. There are no covering rights. The only available provider is yourself. |
Remove | Removes the request from the list and should only be used if you have previously handled this request and it is a duplicate. |
Modify suggested | Allows you to modify the suggested prescription. |
Chose a new drug | Allows you to change the prescription. When the prescription is changed, the prescription becomes a pending prescription in the prescription report. This will alert the pharmacy that the requested renewal has been denied, but a new prescription will follow. |
Deny | Denies the request and sends a denial message to the pharmacy. A denial reason must be selected. |
Renew | Renews the prescription with the desired amount of total refills. |
