Attaching Files in the Patient Chart for Practice Users

Providers and non-provider practice users with Clinical and Practice Super User access can attach documents no larger than 10MB to the patient’s chart from the Files tab.  If no files are attached to the patient’s chart, the “No files added for patient yet” message appears.

Steps to Attach a Document to the Chart

Step 1: Click the Files tab

Step 2: Click ADD FILE

Step 3: Drag and drop or select the file (PDF, JPEG, or PNG)

Step 4: Enter required fields (category, title, acknowledgment)

Step 5: Select UPLOAD

An orange loading bar that alerts you of the document’s uploading progress may appear.  Once the file has successfully loaded, a message appears in the top right-hand corner of the screen.  To close the success message, click the X.

The uploaded files are listed with the most recent file first.  The list can be filtered by category or uploaded date.  Click the blue file title name link to view the file.

The Action icons to edit or remove the document are available.  The Edit icon only allows you to modify the category and/ or title.

Removing Files from the Chart

The Remove icon allows the file to be removed.  After clicking the Remove icon, a window with the document details will appear to confirm that the file should be removed.
