After an encounter note has been created, the option to edit, save or print the encounter will be available.

Editing an Encounter Note

The option to edit an encounter note will be available when the note is still in progress.

To edit an encounter note, select the Edit this Note icon.

The note will open allowing you to make changes.

Amending an Encounter Note

The option to amend an encounter note will be available once the note is finalized. The note cannot be older than 180 days from today's date in order to amend it.

To amend an encounter note, select the Amend this Note icon.

The note will open and a confirmation message will display.

When the encounter note opens, all of the original findings will populate with a message that any section can be amended.  The “Labs not for ESRD Treatment” is the only section that can not be modified. A note can be amended multiple times.

Amended notes will have an "Amended" designation in the Provider Notes list.

Deactivating an Encounter Note

Any provider can deactivate an encounter note.

Printing or Downloading an Encounter Note

Viewing, printing or downloading a PDF version of an encounter note can be completed under the Clinical Summary section of the patient's chart.

To view, print or download the PDF, select the View the PDF for this Note icon for the selected note.

The PDF will appear in a separate tab and can be printed or downloaded by using the browser icons.

Any user with the proper authorization can view, print, or download the note. Printing and downloading patient information should be limited to the minimum necessary for your job function. Promptly delete medical records from your computer or place paper documents in secure shredding bin when they are no longer needed.
