Mobile Dialysis Schedule

The Dialysis Schedule feature will provide the ability to populate the dialysis schedule, start an encounter note, navigate to the patient charts, see visual indications that show whether or not any encounter notes were created for a particular patient for the current month, and view finalized encounter notes.

The dialysis facility nearby can be found and loaded if Location Services are enabled. Geolocation or Location Services uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi hotspot locations to determine your approximate location. The dialysis facility nearest to your geolocation will auto-populate.

The dialysis facility can be manually selected in order to populate the schedule if the location services are not enabled.  The Filters are available to choose specific criteria for the dialysis schedule.  Multiple filters can be selected.  The Filters icon is also available to choose specific criteria.

The information can be filtered by the selections below.

Filter Description
Facility The facility where the patients are receiving treatment.  The options are the facilities where the provider is credentialed.
Patients The provider’s relationship with the patient.  The default is My Patients.  The options for a physician are: My Patients, All Current Patients, and Covering Patients.
Modality The patient’s treatment modality.  The default is ICHD.  The options are: ICHD and HHD/PD.  The ICHD filter option includes (In-Center Hemodialysis) and AKI (Acute Kidney Injury) patients.  The HHD, PD filter option includes HHD (Home Hemodialysis) and PD (Peritoneal Dialysis) patients.
Day The patient’s day of dialysis.  The default is today’s day.  The options are: Mon through Sun.
Shift The patient’s assigned shift.
COVID-19 Status COVID-19 status of the patient.  The options are: Pos, Asym, Sym, and All.

The dialysis schedule results are sorted by the patient’s last name. The patient’s name, age, date of birth, gender, shift, and modality will be listed. If the vaccination records were entered, the patient’s COVID-19 vaccination status is displayed in the banner.

If the patient has started dialysis, the time they have left on their current dialysis treatment will be in an orange font. “Not Started” appear for patients treating on the given day but have not started their treatment yet. The station number in which the patient is treating displays to assist in finding your patients in the clinic. This information will only display for patients for whom you are their primary nephrologist or covering physician. “Missed Tx” displays for those patients scheduled to receive treatment in the current shift or past shift but have not shown up for their treatment.

The patient’s time left on dialysis (TDOL) can be refreshed by holding your finger on the screen and pulling downward.

Visual indications show whether or not encounter notes were created for a particular patient for the current month. A filled green box indicates the encounter note was finalized, while a dotted orange outline represents an in-progress encounter note. A white box indicates no notes are created for that type of encounter for the current month.

Providers can create or edit Comprehensive notes from the Dialysis Schedule. A message appears at the top of the schedule and states, “Tap the C to create or edit an in-progress comprehensive encounter.”

When no Comprehensive note was created for the month, the indicator is blank (no date), and a +C is available to add the encounter note. Tap the +C, and a new Comprehensive note opens.

Encounter notes that are In Progress (started or amended but not finalized) are displayed with orange dots and the encounter date.

Tap the In-Progress note, and the Edit, View PDF, and Cancel action options appear. Tap Edit to edit and finalize the encounter.

To view the PDF, tap View PDF. To return to the dialysis schedule, tap “Dismiss” at the bottom of the screen.

Finalized or Amended and Finalized encounter notes show the encounter date and have a green background.

Tap the Finalize note, and the Amend, View PDF, and Cancel action options appear. Tap Amend to amend and finalize the encounter. Tap View PDF to view the note.

Notes can also be started from the Dialysis Schedule by tapping the blue "+" icon.

Tap the blue plus icon, and all the available note types appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap the appropriate note type to start the encounter note.
